Title
Letter from Anthony J. Drexel to his son John R. Drexel, March 15, 1890.
Creator
Drexel, Anthony J. (Anthony Joseph), 1826-1893
Date
1890-03-15
Description
We believe the "Patti" mentioned in the letter could be Adelina Patti (1843-1919), a famous Italian opera singer at the time. Patti is one of the most famous Sopranos in history and had an unmatched quality of the bel canto technique. She toured Europe and Russia in 1869-1870, but was considered in her prime in the 1870's-1880's, when she toured internationally.
