Rachel Sasson was a third-year student at Drexel University studying Architecture with a minor in Sustainability in the Built Environment at the time of this interview. Rachel Sasson describes learning about COVID-19 in late February 2020 during a class on sustainability history and theory, which examined the impact of COVID-19 on China's carbon emissions. Rachel Sasson recalls how quickly COVID-19 emerged as a crisis in the United States and discusses Drexel's shift to remote classes. This interview describes the impact of COVID-19 on Rachel Sasson's personal life, and what it was like living in Philadelphia during the pandemic. Rachel Sasson discusses online classes, highlighting some of its challenges. Rachel Sasson traveled home to Dallas, Texas in early June 2020, and compares the area's health safety implementations to Philadelphia. This interview describes working in the food service industry during the pandemic. Rachel Sasson comments on Drexel's decision to continue remote classes for the fall term in 2020.
