At the time of this interview, Ulrike Altenmüller-Lewis was Associate Professor at Drexel University in the Department of Architecture, Design & Urbanism, and Program Director for the Architecture program. This interview discusses Drexel's response to the COVID-19 pandemic and the decision to hold spring term and winter finals remotely in March 2020. This interview discusses the shift to remote learning for the Architecture program, touching on technology and communications. Ulrike Altenmüller-Lewis shares how day-to-day responsibilities changed and what is was like working at home with children. This interview touches on supporting students during a time of unrest, after an African American man, George Floyd, was murdered by police during an arrest. This interview discusses opportunities to learn and improve the Architecture program by embracing online technologies, and further discusses benefits to faculty and students. Ulrike Altenmüller-Lewis shares plans for hybrid studio classes and discusses some concerns about returning to campus.
