Thersa Sweet is an infectious disease epidemiologist and an Associate Professor at Drexel University's School of Public Health in the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics. This interview describes how Thersa Sweet's interests and training has helped in understanding COVID-19. This interview compares COVID-19 to previous virus outbreaks and touches on demographical information of who has been most infected by COVID-19. This interview also touches on mask-wearing and pushback from the public. Government policies that have been implemented, or should have been implemented, are discussed. This interview also describes how major health entities can prepare for a pandemic. Thersa Sweet describes Drexel's return to campus plans and highlights the importance of mandating masks, contact tracing, and testing. This interview ends with thoughts on long-term effects that may result from COVID-19.
