Alissa Truxon was a Biological Sciences student on the pre-medical track at Drexel University and worked part-time at Jefferson University Hospital as a clinical research assistant at the time of this interview. This interview shares Alissa Truxon's experience during the COVID-19 pandemic, while taking online classes, studying for the Medical College Admission Test, and applying to medical school. Alissa Truxon discusses the impact on family. This interview also discusses the pandemic's affect on clinical research work at Jefferson, including remote and in-person modifications. Alissa Truxon shares thoughts on the new normal and the positive and negative aspects of some health safety precautions. Alissa Truxon discusses protocols for re-opening businesses and indoor dining. This interview comments on how the United States handled the pandemic and how the government could have responded better, with a discussion on stimulus checks. Supporting essential workers and small businesses during a pandemic is also discussed. This interview touches on the Black Lives Matter movement and how the pandemic brought racial injustices to light. Alissa Truxon concludes the interview with a discussion on vaccines.
