The eldest son of Alice Gordon Troth (1866-1947) and John R. Drexel, Sr. (1863-1935), John “Jack” R. Drexel, Jr., (1890-1936) had one child, John R. Drexel III “Sonny,” with first wife Elizabeth Thompson (1896-1943). He had two children, David Anthony Drexel and Jane Barbour Drexel, with his second wife Jane Barbour. He was an avid horseman and motorcycle enthusiast.
