Title

Brenna Eadie oral history self-interview

Creator

Eadie, Brenna A.

Description

Brenna Eadie was a third year student at Drexel University at the time of this interview. She first discusses when she first felt the pandemic was going to significantly impact the United States. Brenna states that she was initially satisfied with Drexel’s response to the virus, and she quickly made the decision to leave campus for home during the duration of remote learning in the Spring term. Brenna found it somewhat difficult complete her work from home away from her peers. The interview then discusses the impact that the pandemic has had on Brenna’s mental health. She talks about how such a large scale pandemic is not something most people would see in their lifetime, and as such it has taken a toll on nearly everyone. Overall, Brenna discusses her struggles living away from the Drexel facilities, particularly the University’s gym equipment. Brenna then moves to discuss her experience with Drexel Greek life during the pandemic. The virus disrupted many planned events for Brenna, but she details opportunities she had had to help distract people from the conditions of the virus. The interview concludes with Brenna’s thoughts on returning to campus, and her fear that this could cause a large outbreak as it had for other schools who had already resumed some in-person events.

This interview was conducted during HNRS 301: COVID-19, taught by Scott Knowles during summer quarter 2020.
