Daniel Ramirez is a first-generation Mexican American. At the time of this interview, he was a 21-year-old Drexel University student and was living in Philadelphia after spending the spring quarter in New Jersey with family. This interview recounts Daniel's experience learning about the pandemic for the first time and the impact of COVID-19 on financial markets. In this interview, Daniel shares how COVID-19 has impacted work within the food industry and issues with information technology used for the unemployment application system. This interview describes how the pandemic has affected routines, lifestyle choices, mental health, and social situations. Daniel discusses productivity when working from home and the potential for flexible accommodations at work. Exposure risks and antibody testing are also discussed. Daniel reflects on how COVID-19 will be remembered and ends the interview with thoughts about online and in-person classes during a pandemic.

This interview was conducted during HNRS 301: COVID-19, taught by Scott Knowles during summer quarter 2020.
